Model and influencer Marie Temara has opened up about a humiliating Tinder date that left her feeling crushed and led her to avoid dating altogether for nearly two years.

The 6ft 3in OnlyFans star, who now earns an eye-watering $10 million a year thanks in part to her statuesque height, recalled how one man’s blunt rejection reignited the insecurities she’d worked hard to overcome.

Marie, who has 2.6 million followers on Instagram (@marietemara), said she and the man had been chatting online for a while and seemed to genuinely click. But everything changed the moment they met in person.

“He looked at me, shook his head, and told me he had a family emergency,” she said. “Then he just left.” At around 5ft 9in, the man clearly hadn’t anticipated the dramatic height difference and couldn’t handle it.

The date had been carefully planned: dinner and a movie. But it ended before it even began. “He couldn’t get past my height,” Marie explained. “And just like that, it was over.”

Although Marie is now celebrated for her long legs and towering frame especially by fans who worship her online the encounter triggered painful memories from her teenage years, when she was bullied for being tall.

My height has always been my number one insecurity,” she admitted. “That one date took me back to a place I thought I’d outgrown.”

Following the experience, Marie took a step back from dating entirely. “I just didn’t want to waste time with people who’d vanish the second they saw me,” she said. “It wasn’t worth the emotional toll.”

Instead, she channeled her energy into building her brand. The result? A multimillion-dollar empire and an ever-growing fanbase that sends her daily messages about how much they love her height a dramatic shift from the rejection she once feared. Gradually, that support helped restore her confidence.

Marie now embraces her height unapologetically. It’s front and centre in her dating app bios, and she’s even developed a soft spot for what she affectionately calls “short kings.”

She’s dated men as short as 5ft 8in, and says height isn’t something she cares about but admits it can still be an issue for others. “Sometimes I feel like the man in the relationship,” she said. “I do all the lifting, all the reaching.”

Her height poses other daily challenges too. Water slides are a logistical problem she has to sit at the back because she’s heavier than most of her dates.

Plane rides are cramped unless she books aisle seats. And finding jeans that actually fit? Nearly impossible. She often has to get her clothes custom-made.

Still, Marie has managed to turn what was once a source of self-doubt into a powerful asset. But when it comes to dating, she remains cautious. “I get stared at constantly,” she said. “Some guys ask for photos, others look like they’re sizing me up for a fight.”

She’s no longer trying to shrink herself or make others comfortable. “I’ve learned to own who I am,” she said. “If someone can’t handle my height, it’s their loss.”
