Transgender model Lana Madison, who earns a staggering $1.6 million a year sharing racy content online, says her inbox is constantly flooded with messages from men most of whom have no idea she was born male.
The 29-year-old, who grew up in a conservative Catholic home in rural Texas, now lives openly and proudly as a trans woman but says she doesn’t feel the need to disclose her gender history upfront to strangers sliding into her DMs.
“A lot of guys message me just because they think I’m hot,” said Lana, who has over 76,000 followers on Instagram @lanabananaonly.

I don’t walk around announcing I’m trans, and I don’t think I owe that information to everyone who finds me attractive. If they want to know more, they can pay for my explicit content they’ll find out then.”

Lana says reactions range from curiosity to obsession, and even anger. One man, she said, initially panicked upon learning she was trans but later returned asking to see more. “Some are turned on by it and just don’t know how to process that. The angry ones are usually the ones dealing with their own confusion.”
While she doesn’t believe she’s misleading anyone, Lana is blunt about her approach: “I’m not lying I’m just existing. I’m not going to tattoo ‘trans’ on my forehead. If someone feels tricked, that’s their problem.”

Since moving to New York at 21, Lana has undergone several gender-affirming procedures, including facial feminisation surgery, breast augmentation, and a hair transplant. These changes, she says, helped her feel at home in her body and dramatically boosted her career. Last month alone, she brought in $120,000 from OnlyFans, and the attention only keeps building.
But alongside the praise and profit comes a wave of conflicted reactions, particularly from men. “Some of the guys paying for my content have girlfriends or wives.
And a lot of them freak out once they realize I’m trans but the truth is, they were into me before they knew. That’s what really messes with them.”

Despite her massive fanbase, Lana says her offline dating life is fairly quiet. “There’s a lot of lust, but not much connection,” she admits. “I’ve had more situationships than real relationships.
When I do date, I’m upfront about being trans but the men I connect with don’t care. They’re attracted to confidence and sexuality, not just body parts.”
And while some people still struggle to accept her, Lana sees every click, message, and fan as proof that trans women are just as desirable as anyone else. “Men hold the door open for me, stare on the street they don’t even know I’m trans.
That says everything. Trans women are beautiful, period. The only ones who seem upset are the ones who can’t admit they agree.”
