‘I quit my nursing job to do OnlyFans after a viral TikTok – it was the SCARIEST thing I’ve ever done but now I own six properties’

A former nurse who spent 10 years working in intensive care with critically ill newborns has revealed how one viral TikTok video changed her life forever – and led her to quit the career she’d spent years training for.

Sammy, who is in her late 20s and based in Los Angeles, never imagined she’d leave the profession she “thought she’d do for her entire life”.

But after making her first ever TikTok – a transition video filmed with a friend – the NICU nurse woke up to find it had gone viral overnight.

Confused by comments asking if she had “an OF”, Sammy had to google what OnlyFans even was.

Now, three to four years after leaving nursing, she’s built a property empire with six homes and has flipped two houses – all whilst running her content creation business full-time.

“You know what? I kind of fell in my lap, this OnlyFans thing,” said Sammy.

“I’m wasn’t huge into Instagram or TikTok back then.

“I didn’t really know to use my social media well.

“So I was with my friend and we decided to make a TikTok.

“Made my first ever TikTok and it was one of these, transition videos.

“Posted it, went to bed the next morning, it went viral and I thought, oh, I guess this is good news.

“And so I’m looking at the comments and people are commenting, do you have an OF?

“I didn’t know what it was.

“I had no idea what it was.

“I had to look it up.

“And then I found out what it was and thought, oh, this sounds kind of interesting.

“And I have a really high, like playful sexual side to me.

“So I figured, let’s try it out.

“I think this could be fun.”

Before her viral moment, Sammy had worked as a NICU nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit, caring for seriously ill infants when they’re just born.

She’d completed a master’s degree and was earning up to £78,000 a year through travel nursing, where she’d pick up contracts in different cities.

“I did that for 10 years,” she said.

“I did a lot of schooling.

“I went and I did my master’s as well for it.

“So I thought I was going to be the nurse my whole entire life.”

But her nursing career has “really shaped who I am”, Sammy insists, adding that she still loves her family and helping other people out.

The transformation from nurse to content creator has been life-changing.

“Honestly, everything’s changed,” she said.

“I have financial freedom now.

“I left my full-time nursing career three and four years ago now.

“So I was able to leave that position where I didn’t have to work weekends and work overnight, miss family holidays.”

Sammy now has her own LLC where she invests the money she makes from OnlyFans into properties.

“I’ve actually done some work where I buy houses, I’ve flipped a couple houses, done some renovations, which is something I’ve always been interested in, but I’ve never had the cash flow to do it,” she said.

She’s flipped two properties with help and owns six other homes, all located on the east coast where she’s originally from.

In fact, she was sitting in her latest purchase – which she’d closed on just two days earlier – during the interview, in the only furnished room whilst she works on the rest.

“Yeah, so I splurge on investment properties,” she said.

“And I try to be smart with my money.”

The physical transformation has been just as dramatic as the financial one.

“I’m a lot more confident, I know how to hold myself, present myself better,” Sammy said.

“I have more time for skincare and taking care of myself, working out.

“I’m really into health and wellness so I do a lot of – I’m always at the gym or I’m always outside, hiking.”

She spends two to two-and-a-half hours at the gym daily, and jokes that she could “honestly” spend “all afternoon” there with the sauna and facilities.

But it’s the bizarre fan requests that really stand out in her new career.

When asked about the strangest request she’d received, Sammy explained an unusual fetish called vore or macrophilia.

“It’s basically where someone likes to have a difference in size,” she said.

“So in this particular case, they like to be really tiny, like the size of ant, and then I would be the size of a giant.

“That’s the macrophilia.

“And the vore part is of eating.

“So they like to be eaten, devoured.

“My craziest request is making videos where I’m eating someone.

“They’re a piece of cereal and I’m eating them for breakfast.

“And then I’ll eat them and then they’ll hang out in my stomach andthey want to hear all about it, like how it’s feeling and stuff.

“It’s unusual, but, you know, I love making content for my fans and I have a lot of fun doing it.”

Sammy’s reaction to unusual requests is remarkably open-minded.

“You know what? I think it’s so interesting,” she said.

“Obviously we’re all different.

“Everybody’s into something different.

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve never heard of it.

“It doesn’t matter if it sounds a little bit off the wall.

“Everybody’s into their own thing.

“And I think that just makes everybody unique.”

The transition from respected healthcare professional to content creator wasn’t without its challenges, however.

“Initially when I started doing OnlyFans, I wasn’t sure how to make that change,” Sammy said.

“Going from being a nurse and how everybody’s opinions are of you being a nurse and then going into OnlyFans – I think there’s a way that people view OnlyFans who don’t maybe know much about it, but they think it’s just, you know, it’s a porn industry.

“That’s all it is.

“It’s bad.

“It just has a bad rep sometimes.

“And I’ve had some backlash from friends who really didn’t understand it.”

But once she explained the opportunities the platform has created – from OnlyFans TV to creator events and collaborations – and they saw her success, attitudes changed.

“I think, once they’ve seen how successful I’ve been from it and how much it’s changed my life, like where I’ve gone from being a full-time nurse to being a full-time content creator, they’ve given me that respect and they’ve said, oh my God, can I do this?” she said.

“You have freedom now.

“Now you’re doing what you want to do, buying properties.”

While Sammy hasn’t lost any friends over her career change, she has faced judgment – particularly from former nursing colleagues.

“I think it’s just that they don’t understand what it is or honestly a little bit of jealousy. It’s been from people who I used to work full-time side by side,” she said.

“And they just don’t understand how I could leave a job that I went to school for eight years and then do something that’s like on social media.

“They just don’t understand it really.”

The judgment used to bother her, but not anymore.

“At the beginning it used to, but once I’ve seen how much confidence I have from this and how much work I actually put into it, you know, all these OnlyFans creators, they’re entrepreneurs in themselves,” she said.

“It takes a lot of work to schedule content, make content, upload content, like talk to all your fans.

“It’s a lot and I feel like my job is more important now than it was before where I was just following someone else and they told me what to do, when to do.

“But now I’m making those decisions of what to do, when to do, how to do it, how to make my fans happy.

“I feel like I have a lot bigger role now.”

Sammy juggles multiple phones and works even whilst travelling, treating her content creation like the serious business it is.

“People think, all you do is go on vacation,” she said.

“You’re in a new country every other week or something.

“And I’m like, yes, I might be travelling more, but I’m working.

“I’m gonna be sleeping and I’m working and I have multiple three phones on myself.

“But I like the work.

“I really do.”

Looking ahead, Sammy wants to continue building her property portfolio and expanding her social media presence.

“I want to keep building on the property front, and I also am trying to get more traction on my Instagram, get more followers, people on my socials,” she said.

“To have my face out there more.

“So I’m always trying to be seen more.

“I’m doing some live podcasts.

“I have one next week.”

But for anyone considering a similar leap, Sammy has an important message about believing in yourself.

“I think it would have to be to not be scared to go out there, try something completely new,” she said.

“To know that you can do whatever you put your mindset to.

“You can manifest whatever you want.

“Your day to day is a manifestation of what you want, and you can create whatever you’d like.

“But you have to believe in yourself and you have to take a step of faith into doing that.

“When I first thought about it, I realised I can quit my job full-time from nursing if I put my all into OnlyFans.

“But I had to take that risk.

“I had to quit my nursing job and say, I’m gonna put all my effort into OnlyFans and see where this takes me.

“Because I really believe that it’ll take me somewhere new.

“And I did.

“And it was the scariest thing I’ve ever done because leaving something that you’ve worked for your entire life isn’t an easy decision.

“And once I left it and I put my all into OnlyFans, everything in my life has changed.”
