An OnlyFans creator who grew up in a strict Jehovah’s Witness environment says building a career in adult content has given her the freedom she never had growing up.
Daisy Simpson, from Stockton-on-Tees, was raised around extended family members who followed the faith closely – a background she says was structured, conservative and worlds away from the life she lives now.
“Growing up around a very religious environment definitely shapes you,” said Daisy, who turns 30 this year.
“It’s very traditional, very strict in certain ways.
“And now my life couldn’t be more different.”
Daisy didn’t initially plan to enter the adult industry. She was studying for a master’s degree in forensic psychology while working in retail on minimum wage.
“At the time I was earning about £6.30 an hour and I hated it,” she said.

“I needed more money, especially because I didn’t have much time with studying.”
Looking for something flexible that would fit around university, she applied to work in a strip club.
“I went and got an interview at a strip club,” she said.
The money was unpredictable – some nights she would make £1,000, other nights she would lose money after paying house fees – but it was still far more than retail.
When the pandemic hit and clubs shut overnight, Daisy was forced to rethink her options.
“Obviously I didn’t have any income, so I thought, I’m just going to go online,” she said.
“That’s when I started OnlyFans.”
What began as a practical decision quickly turned into a full-time career. Daisy now earns around £10,000 a month through the platform.

The financial stability has completely transformed her lifestyle.
“I feel like when you work for yourself, you have more confidence,” she said.
“I enjoy the freedom of the lifestyle.
“I travel a lot now. I wouldn’t be able to do that if I still worked in a club because you have to physically be there.”
A self-confessed Disney fan, Daisy set herself the challenge of visiting every Disney park in the world – and completed it last year.
“I’ve done China, Japan, all the American ones, Paris, Hong Kong – I’ve done them all now,” she said.
“I think Tokyo was probably the best. The rides and animatronics are just more advanced.”
While some assume adult creators are reckless with money, Daisy says she focuses on experiences rather than flashy purchases.

Travel is her main indulgence, though she has also invested in cosmetic procedures over the years.
“I didn’t have any surgery when I was a stripper,” she said.
“Later on I got my nose done, my boobs done and a labiaplasty.”
Daisy describes her niche as more fetish-focused, particularly in the foot and femdom space, and says she’s become more strategic about the type of content she produces.
“I want to work more towards fem dominant and fetish,” she said.
“It’s about making my life easier and attracting the right subscribers.”
Despite her unconventional career path, Daisy is keen to challenge stereotypes.

“People think that if you do OnlyFans you’re hypersexual or have no morals,” she said.
“But for most of us, it’s just work.
“We’re normal girls who found a way to work for ourselves.”
As she approaches 30, Daisy has set herself another ambitious goal: visiting 30 countries before her milestone birthday.
“For me it’s about freedom,” she said.
“Coming from a strict background to being able to build my own life on my own terms – that’s the biggest achievement.”
