Sophie Rain, a 20-year-old influencer earning around £500,000 a month, says her image is being repeatedly used by scammers to catfish men online.
After a viral TikTok showed a woman named Charlotte tricking a man into thinking he was meeting Sophie at the airport, Sophie called out the behaviour as “lame” and “gross,” adding this isn’t the first time it’s happened.
With over 11 million followers, Sophie claims fake accounts often impersonate her and even use AI-edited videos to deceive men into sending money.

She regularly receives messages from confused men who believe they were speaking to her, some angry after being “stood up.” While she tries to clarify and offer sympathy, many refuse to believe they’ve been scammed.
Sophie says it’s frustrating and disturbing to see her face and body used in ways she never consented to, and urges people to be more cautious.
Based in Tampa, Florida, Sophie also opened up about how her looks bring constant attention, often unwanted. She says her dating life suffers because most men approach her with shallow or inappropriate messages, and she’s even been followed in public.
Despite these downsides, she’s grateful for the lifestyle her career has given her, especially after growing up on food stamps. She’s since helped her parents financially and enjoys the freedom that comes with her success.
Still, Sophie admits the dark side of internet fame can be stressful and unsafe. She warns fans to stay alert when strangers online start asking for money, especially under her name.
