Former Olympic swimmer Luana Alonso has turned heads once again, this time not for her performance in the pool but for her dramatic exit from competitive sport and a surprising new venture on OnlyFans.
The 20-year-old Paraguayan athlete, who competed in the 100m butterfly at the Paris Olympics and placed 29th overall, announced her retirement immediately after the race, stating that she was ready to move on from swimming to focus on her future career and education.
Her departure from the Games was clouded in controversy. Reports emerged on August 5 that Luana had been asked to leave the Olympic Village for allegedly creating an “inappropriate atmosphere” around her team.

While details remained vague, the President of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee mentioned during a radio interview that her trip to Disneyland Paris may have contributed to the decision.

On top of that, prior to the Games, Luana had reportedly expressed hesitation about representing Paraguay and suggested in a livestream that she would have preferred to compete for the United States.
Responding to the controversy, Luana insisted she left the Olympics voluntarily and had already planned for it to be her final competition. “I made the decision to stop and I’m happy that my last race was at the Olympics,” she said.
She now intends to move to the U.S. to study Political Science and has expressed ambitions of working in the public sector possibly even as a future Sports Minister.

However, just weeks after her Olympic exit, Luana launched an OnlyFans account, branding herself as “your favourite ex-swimmer.”
Charging $35 per month, she’s begun posting exclusive adult content, primarily photos of herself in swimwear, and teasing more steamy content in direct messages. Her sudden shift in career direction has stirred up reactions online ranging from amused to critical.
Some followers questioned her previous claims about focusing on studies and a political future, while others said they had anticipated the move. “Everyone knew this was going to happen,” one user wrote, while another warned, “You will regret this one day.”

Luana previously made headlines during the Games after revealing that Brazilian football star Neymar had sent her a message on Instagram following a “like” on one of her posts.
She said she initially missed the message as it was in her requests folder, but responded two weeks later and claimed he messaged her again. She declined to share more details about their exchange.
Though her competitive swimming career may be over, Luana Alonso is clearly not stepping out of the spotlight anytime soon only now, it’s on her own terms.
