Electra Rayne, a 27-year-old legal sex worker based at Sheri’s Ranch in Nevada, is opening up about life inside one of the few legal brothels in the US and the reality is far more structured, safe, and fulfilling than many might expect.

With just over a year of experience under her belt, Electra says her job is all about helping people explore and embrace their fantasies in a safe, supportive environment.

“The best part is getting to help folks fulfil their fantasies,” she told Nude Newz. From first-timers and grieving widows to curious couples and lesbian newcomers, Electra has seen a wide range of clients with deeply personal stories.

I’ve worked with virgins, people seeking intimacy after loss, and women looking for their first experience with another woman,” she explained. “It’s incredibly meaningful to be part of such formative moments.”

Electra initially hesitated to enter sex work because of legal risks but once she learned about Sheri’s Ranch through a friend, she realised it offered the professional structure and safety she needed. Now, she specialises in fantasy fulfilment and enjoys the variety the job brings.

Any time I get to use a strap-on with a girl for the first time especially if her husband is watching and cheering it’s a highlight,” she said. “One client even arrived with three suitcases full of toys and gear for anal play. It was unforgettable.”

Sheri’s Ranch isn’t just about sex it also features a topless 24-hour pool and hot tub, fitness and sports facilities, and even themed sets for photography.

But behind the scenes, the job is tightly regulated. Workers are subject to weekly STI tests, pay for licensing and fingerprinting, and operate under strict hygiene protocols, including UV sterilisation of all toys and gear.

“Each brothel is different, but mine runs 12-hour shifts 5am to 5pm or vice versa and we’re expected to show up for line-ups and bar calls,” Electra explained.

Outside of that, you can spend your shift however you like, but the long stretches away from home can be tough. I miss my wife and my horse.”

While she’s found happiness in her work, her loved ones initially had concerns. “My wife and my parents were definitely worried at first, mostly about safety and health,” she said.“But once I explained the protocols and how seriously we take safety, they accepted it. They’re happy because I’m happy.”

For Electra, this isn’t just a job it’s a passion, a community, and a chance to provide something that many people struggle to find: intimacy, care, and a judgment-free space to be themselves.
