Jasmine Teaa, a 26-year-old model from California, has built a fortune by selling risqué content online but says the journey to financial freedom came at the cost of friendships, judgement, and even being disowned by her parents.
Despite the backlash, she’s now a self-made millionaire with more than 574,000 Instagram followers (@jasteaa) and a tight-knit circle of like-minded, supportive friends who accept her fully for who she is.
Jasmine began uploading steamy photos during college to help pay off her tuition fees, but what started as a side hustle quickly exploded into a full-blown career. However, not everyone was thrilled with her success.

I chose selling pictures over my friends and they were super upset about it,” she admitted. “When I first told a couple of friends what I did for money, there was judgment.

I think they were jealous. I’ve lost several friends over the years, but I’ve realised they weren’t the kind of people I needed in my life anyway.”
One betrayal stung more than most. A close friend from her college sorority outed her to the group, which led to a meeting where she was told to stop posting or face being kicked out. “I definitely considered quitting,” Jasmine said.
The stigma really upset me. But I love what I do and I love being my own boss.” Her first camera show sealed her decision someone tipped her $500 just for being herself.

Despite the pressure, Jasmine stayed true to her path. While she completed a degree in computational linguistics, she chose to pursue her online career full-time after graduation. Now, she’s saved her first million and has ambitious plans to grow her investments to £6 million in the coming years.
The fallout from her sorority and former friends eventually made room for something better: genuine connections. “I’ve made new friends in the industry, and they’re always there for me without judgment,” she said. “Some of my closest friends now do the same work I do. We all face the same stigma, so we support each other.”

Jasmine says her job hasn’t just brought her wealth and independence it’s also helped her find her people.
While some sorority sisters cut ties, others stuck by her, and those are the relationships she now cherishes. “Even though I lost a lot of friends along the way, I found true ones who I see as family,” she said. “I don’t regret anything.”
Now, Jasmine encourages other women to trust their choices and not let fear or shame dictate their path. “I’ve gone to so many amazing places because of my job. Maybe I’ll never use my degree, but it’s there if I need it. I followed my passion, and I’m proud of it.”
