Tatiana Murillo, a Colombian influencer known online as the “Colombian Barbie,” has undergone more than 17 cosmetic procedures in her quest to reshape herself into a real-life doll, driven by years of bullying over her appearance and background.
Now in her 30s and with over a million followers across social media, she openly shares her extreme transformation, along with the physical pain that comes with it.
Tatiana grew up in Caicedo, northwest of Medellín, where she said beauty was equated with being a “Barbie,” a label she never felt worthy of as a child.

I wasn’t very pretty, to say the least,” she told local media, explaining that she was mocked not just for her looks but also her family’s rural, working-class roots. “My parents have always been farmers,” she added.

Her long list of cosmetic procedures includes seven brow lifts and full-body skin lightening. She frequently posts updates of her surgeries, often showing her swollen face or peeling skin in the aftermath.
Following her bleaching treatments, she admitted: “My skin has turned red, flaked, it has hurt, and I’ve been through everything.”
Her extreme approach to beauty sparked even more controversy when it was revealed her daughter, then just 12 years old, had undergone cosmetic surgery on her lips and nose.

The criticism didn’t stop Tatiana from allowing her now 13-year-old daughter to have additional procedures.
She defended the decision by saying she wanted the girl to follow in her footsteps. “I had her undergo surgery so she could be my successor and become Barbie,” she said.
Tatiana recently shocked fans by posting a photo of herself as a teenager. In the old picture, she’s nearly unrecognisable dark hair, naturally tanned skin, a different nose shape, and much thinner lips.

She captioned the post with a bold declaration: “Revenge is never good, but to seek revenge like this? Yes, it’s very satisfying.”
The post drew mixed reactions. Some were stunned by the dramatic change, while others felt she was already beautiful before the surgeries. One follower wrote, “But the thing is, she was also very beautiful before.”

Another questioned how she could afford such extensive work, while others called for her to focus on empowering messages rather than physical transformation.
Still, for Tatiana, the transformation is deeply personal. Her story is one of turning pain into control, even if it’s through methods that continue to divide opinion.
