Police told me nothing could be done after my photos were leaked to revenge porn sites, so I took control and made money from it myself

Former Division 1 athlete Brooklyn Rose, 23, from Miami started OnlyFans after hackers stole her private photos and police couldn’t help, deciding to profit from content already leaked online.

A former Division 1 athlete whose private photos were stolen and leaked online says starting OnlyFans was her way of taking back control after police admitted they could not help her.

Brooklyn Rose, 23, from Miami, was juggling two minimum wage jobs while competing as a middle-distance runner when her Snapchat account was hacked and her images were uploaded to revenge porn sites.

“People were threatening to tell my coaches, my athletic department, the dean, the president, everything,” Brooklyn told NudeNewz. “So I went to the police and made a case and there was pretty much nothing they could do.”

At the time, Brooklyn was working at Petco and Taco Bell while training and paying her way through college.

“I was making no money,” she said. “I was paying for college myself.”

As the threats escalated, Brooklyn decided to get ahead of the situation before blackmailers could destroy her career.

“I went straight to my coaches and the university president and told them what was happening,” she said. “That would’ve been really awkward if they just received a picture out of nowhere.”

But even after being upfront, the abuse did not stop.

Brooklyn soon discovered strangers were profiting from her stolen images.

“People were selling things behind my back,” she said. “I was working minimum wage and people were making hundreds of dollars off my content. That’s when I was like, this is not fair.”

When she told her parents what had happened, their reaction crushed her.

“They were mad at me,” she said. “They said I should have never even taken those photos.”

With her images already online and no legal protection, Brooklyn made a decision that changed her life.

“The content was already on the internet, unfortunately,” she said. “So I was like, well, let’s just go at it. If anyone’s going to make money from it, it might as well be me.”

She started an OnlyFans account, but building an audience was slow at first.

Then she took a bold step.

“I went to the site where people leaked to me and pretended to be someone else,” Brooklyn said. “I commented saying, ‘Oh, she just made an OnlyFans.’ That popped off really well at first.”

Before the hacking, Brooklyn’s life was tightly controlled.

As a Division 1 800m runner at a religious university, her days were split between training, studying and weekend shifts.

“If I didn’t have a track meet, I worked both days,” she said. “If I did, I probably only worked Sunday.”

The emotional toll of being hacked was intense.

“I was really sad and anxious,” she said. “People were texting me and that was scary.”

She remembers being at a candle-making class when the messages started flooding in.

“I had to step outside,” she said. “It was terrifying.”

Brooklyn says she quickly learned one rule.

“You never give in to blackmail,” she said.

Since taking control of her content, her life has transformed.

“The biggest difference is I’m genuinely happy,” she said. “I struggled with depression a lot in college and now I feel free.”

She now controls her own schedule and prioritises fitness.

“I like deciding what to do with my day instead of being told what to do,” she said. “That’s huge for me.”

Brooklyn has since moved to Miami, leaving behind cold winters and the life she associates with trauma.

“We’re on the beach now,” she said. “Renting boats, doing whatever we want.”

Not everyone stayed in her life.

“I’ve lost friends for sure,” she said. “I went to a religious university, so not everyone stuck around. But the ones who did are amazing.”

Her family struggled to accept her decision.

“They always wanted me to quit,” she said. “For months they tried.”

Eventually, they stopped pushing.

“They kind of understand now,” Brooklyn said. “I’m happy and it’s not hurting anyone.”

Brooklyn says she tries to be empathetic but has firm boundaries.

“There are things I just won’t do,” she said.

Today, she runs multiple Instagram pages across fitness, comedy and lifestyle, and networks with other creators in Miami.

Her message is not about glamorising what happened to her.

“Most people start for money,” she said. “My story is different.”

For Brooklyn, OnlyFans was not a shortcut or a fantasy.

It was a response to being violated, ignored and blamed.

“People were making money off my body without my consent,” she said. “So I decided I would be the one in control.”
