‘I get turned on telling men how to lift in the gym – most of them can’t HANDLE my strength’

A fitness model who has been weight training for a decade says her guilty pleasure in the gym is telling men how to lift – and admits it even turns her on.

Britt Lefevre, 27, gets a “rush” from instructing muscular blokes on how to bend their back, flex their knees and squat properly when handling heavy weights.

The model, who makes a fortune sharing raunchy content of her ripped body online, is often approached by male gym-goers who think they are stronger than her. But “nine times out of 10”, she ends up showing them up.

“There’s something so satisfying about showing a guy the right form and seeing the shock when he realises I know my stuff,” said Britt, who has 2.4 million Instagram followers (@therealbrittfit).

“It genuinely turns me on.

“Not in a creepy way – it’s more that I like watching their confidence grow because of something I’ve taught them.

“It gives me a rush, I love that energy.”

It’s a dynamic that flips the typical gym power structure on its head. In a space still dominated by male egos and unwritten rules about who gets to give advice, Britt has carved out a role that most men wouldn’t expect – and many don’t know how to handle.

She added: “Men always think they’re strong until I correct their stance or show them how to actually engage their glutes.

“Then they’re like, ‘Wait, how are you stronger than me?’.

“The gym has always been my therapy and if I can inspire or even humble a few guys along the way, that’s just a bonus.”

The Flirting Problem

Britt, who eats six meals a day to keep up her strength, admits that many of her gym buddies try to get her number while she’s helping them out.

And the pickup lines are about as subtle as a deadlift drop.

She said: “Most guys walk into the gym thinking they’re going to impress me.

“The funny part is, half of them end up flirting while pretending they want form advice.

“I’ll say, ‘You’re bending your back wrong,’ and they’ll reply, ‘Maybe you can show me again, slower.’

“It makes me laugh.”

It’s a scenario many women in the fitness world will recognise. The gym remains one of the few public spaces where unsolicited interaction is almost expected – and for women who visibly know what they’re doing, the line between genuine respect and thinly veiled flirting can blur fast.

For Britt, the distinction is simple: respect her knowledge first, and everything else follows.

Strength Over Looks

Britt is unapologetic about where her confidence comes from – and it’s not the mirror.

She said: “I’m not shy about being a woman who lifts heavy.

“People underestimate how sexy strength is.

“For me, it’s not about looking cute in gym clothes – it’s about power.

“Sometimes I’ll train with guys who can’t keep up and they’ll joke that I’m too strong to date.

“If a man can’t handle me in the gym, he definitely can’t handle me outside of it.”

It’s a philosophy that resonates with a growing movement in women’s fitness. The era of pink dumbbells and “toning” is fading. More women than ever are chasing strength over aesthetics – squatting heavy, pulling deadlifts, and refusing to shrink themselves for the comfort of male gym-goers.

Britt, who trains for at least two hours a day, is very much part of that shift. And her audience loves her for it.

Would She Date a Gym Bro?

As for whether she’d ever date someone she met between the squat rack and the bench press, Britt says she wouldn’t rule it out – but there are conditions.

She said: “If a guy approaches me between sets and actually respects my workout, not just my body, that’s a good start.

“But most of the time, gym crushes don’t survive leg day.”

With nearly a decade of lifting experience under her belt, Britt knows exactly what she’s looking for – and it’s got nothing to do with how much someone can bench.

She said: “I’ve been lifting for nearly 10 years, so when I walk into a gym, I know exactly what I’m doing.

“I love when a man actually listens; when he adjusts his grip or stance the way I tell him to – that’s when I know he respects my strength, not just my body.

“Confidence is the sexiest thing in the world.

“When a man isn’t intimidated by my strength – that’s a green flag.”

The creator economy has given fitness models like Britt a platform that didn’t exist a decade ago. Where once a woman with her physique might have been limited to niche bodybuilding circles, social media has turned strength into a brand – and a lucrative one at that.

Her Message to Ego-Lifters

Britt, who hails from Michigan, US, also has some wise words for the alpha males who keep trying to capture her attention by huffing and puffing through their sets.

She added: “If I could give every guy one piece of advice, it’s this: Stop ego-lifting.

“Focus on control, not clout.

“You’ll impress me way more by doing it right than by grunting through bad reps.”

It’s a message that applies well beyond the gym floor. In an age of performative masculinity – where social media encourages men to film their heaviest lifts rather than their best form – Britt’s advice is refreshingly blunt.

Control over ego. Technique over theatre. And if you’re going to ask for her number, at least fix your squat first.

Like other fitness creators, Britt says the line between her personal brand and her real passion was never really a line at all – the gym came first, and everything else followed.

Why It Works

What makes Britt’s appeal tick is a combination that shouldn’t be unusual but still is – a woman who is visibly strong, technically knowledgeable, and entirely comfortable with both.

In the fitness influencer space, content is often split between aesthetics and expertise. Britt refuses to choose. She’s as likely to post a heavy squat as she is raunchy content – and her audience, now numbering in the millions, has rewarded that duality.

For the men sliding into her DMs or hovering near her squat rack, the lesson is clear: if you want her attention, earn it the same way she earned her strength – with discipline, patience and proper form.
