A mum who quit her corporate career to become a full-time cam girl says the move gave her everything she wanted – except her marriage.
Poppy Prynne, 37, spent nearly two decades with her high school sweetheart before their relationship crumbled under the weight of her new profession.
The content creator, who describes herself as a “manic pixie country milf,” grew up in a religious household in rural South Australia and moved out at just 17.
She married young and spent years working her way up from childcare and hospitality jobs to a management role in IT.
But commuting three hours daily to a male-dominated workplace where she felt overlooked pushed her to make a dramatic change.
“I was commuting three hours a day to a job that was stressful and I wasn’t taken seriously,” said Poppy, also known on Instagram as @poppyprynne.
“So I quit my job and focused on content full time.
“I love the freedom, flexibility and money that I have now.”
Poppy’s journey into adult content began in 2017 when she and her then-husband were in a polyamorous relationship.
She was seeing a colleague at the time, and he suggested they film their encounters.
She said: “I originally posted on P*rnhub just for fun.
“I quickly realised I can monetise this, so I put a lot more effort into filming and posting.”
By 2023, she had transformed her side hustle into a full-time career as a cam girl, prioritising live shows where she can connect with fans one-on-one.
But while her confidence soared, her marriage began to fracture.
Poppy said: “Part of the reason for my marriage falling apart was self-confidence on his part, comparing himself to the men I worked with.
“Our sex life fell apart and then eventually we did too.”
The couple have now separated after nearly 20 years together, and Poppy is living independently for the first time in her life – still in the same small country town where she raised her family.
Despite the heartbreak, she says the career switch has been transformative.
She said: “I have so much self-confidence, body positivity.
“I am proud of who I am and how I look, even though I am now known as a BBW and when I started I was tagged as petite.
“I have as much money as I need depending on how hard I work, and I have flexibility to be there for my autistic child when he needs me.”
Her family’s reaction to her career was mixed.
She said: “My mum was upset and didn’t want to talk about it.
“My stepdad said, ‘Well it makes sense really, you always loved to dress up and perform.'”
As for fan requests, Poppy has encountered her fair share of bizarre ones.
She said: “I had a request where I was asked to act as a cat, which is OK.
“However, they wanted me to play with and then eat a live goldfish.
“I did not do this request.”
Her most daring content to date? A public cum walk.
She said: “I was facialed in a car park and then walked down a public street filming my face.”
Poppy says she thrives on live interaction and creating a genuine connection with her audience.
She said: “I want my fans to feel seen, appreciated and connected, which is why my focus is primarily on live shows where I can give a one-on-one live experience.
“I am fun, bright, vibrant, kink-friendly and I absolutely adore what I do.”
Looking ahead, she plans to move into her own place, increase her live streaming hours and collaborate with other creators.
Her advice for anyone considering a similar path?
Poppy said: “Don’t compare yourself to the success you see online.
“Enjoy what you do, be prepared to put in effort to see rewards, don’t do anything you don’t want to do and always have fun.”
As for what might surprise her fans, Poppy admits she’s more reserved than she appears on screen.
She said: “I am truly an open book.
“I’d doubt there’s much that would surprise my fans – except perhaps I am very shy and anxious until I get to know you.”
