An environmental science graduate has revealed she gave up a career breeding baby fish to bare all online – claiming America’s broken economy left her with no other choice.
Emmie P raked in entry-level wages working at a fish hatchery while studying for her degree, hand-spawning trout and salmon to release into local streams and lakes.
But after graduating into a job market with vanishing funding for conservation roles, she pivoted from breeding baby fish to creating adult content full-time – and now pulls in more than $50,000 (£39,000) a month.
Emmie, who now boasts 115,000 followers on Instagram @isthisemmiep, says she has zero regrets about ditching her dream career for a webcam.
“American politics is pretty difficult right now and the economy is rough,” the model told Nudenewz.
“To get a job in my major would mean sacrificing the pay – because none of the programmes I’d be working on are getting funded.

“A lot of jobs are getting cut.
“I already spend so much time online and I was already making that content for myself.
“I thought – why not share it with other people?”
Before stepping in front of the camera, Emmie had clocked up an unusually long CV for someone fresh out of university – having held down a job since she was just 14.
She had worked in healthcare and as a custodian, before landing what she calls her favourite job of all time – breeding baby fish at a fish hatchery.
Emmie said: “Working at the fish hatchery was probably the most rewarding job I ever had.
“I was doing fish culture work and that kind of more related to my major at the time.
“You’re breeding the fish.
“You’re putting the sperm on the eggs and incubating them to release into local streams and lakes.”
Alongside the hatchery work, Emmie also clocked shifts at Twin Peaks and Hooters – which she credits with opening the door to adult content.

She said: “I worked at Twin Peaks and Hooters and that kind of introduced me to the Playboy centerfold side of things.
“That’s kind of how I dipped my toe in at first.”
After graduating, the science buff weighed up her options and decided live-streaming was the way forward – signing up for both Chaturbate and OnlyFans two years ago, and launching a Twitch channel a year later.
Now her days look very different to when she was wading around in waders.
Emmie said: “It’s entirely different.
“I just have so much more free time and I’m way more flexible to do the things that I want and to create the content that I want to make.
“I wake up, make content, do my Twitch live stream, play video games or do my more not-safe-for-work stream once or twice a week.
“I get to interact with my community.”
The streamer, who lives in upstate New York, US, says the live-streaming side is what keeps her hooked – with viewers chatting to her about everything from comic books to Marvel and DC movies.

She said: “I don’t know if I could do content creation without being a live creator.
“It’s just so nice having that community and being like ‘oh hey, how are you doing today?’.
“It feels more real.
“It feels like I’m actually making an impact on people.”
Despite her growing fanbase, Emmie says being a creator in a small town has its drawbacks – with most of her industry peers based hundreds of miles away.
She said: “The hardest part about being a creator in a small town is that you don’t really get to meet other creators.
“The creator space is more LA and Miami based.”
A move to one of America’s creator capitals is on the cards – but Emmie says she’s playing it sensibly, building up her investments first.
She added: “I probably should move.
“I have been looking into moving but it’ll happen.
“It’s in the works.
“I’m trying to get in some investments first before I commit to that.”
Despite the eye-watering monthly haul, Emmie insists she’s not splashing the cash on designer clothes or jewellery – and that most of her earnings go straight back into her business.

The streamer said: “Outside of equipment like cameras and PCs and laptops, outside of the actual work stuff – I’m not really that materialistic.
“It’s really hard for me to purchase a bag or jewellery.”
Her one big splurge has so far backfired hilariously – with the science buff revealing she bought herself a motorbike to try and conquer her fear of fast-moving things.
But the £4,000-plus purchase has barely left her driveway.
Emmie said: “I did purchase a motorbike to try to learn.
“But I’m actually terrified of fast-moving things, so I’ve only tried driving it like twice.
“I haven’t really gone more than 20 miles an hour.”
It’s not the only quirky side of Emmie’s life that her fans get to see.
The self-confessed nerd has a full sim racing setup in her bedroom and regularly streams herself playing Forza Horizon 6 on Twitch.
She’s even invented her own viral “don’t drink and drive” PSA challenge – downing a shot every time she crashes off the virtual track.
Emmie said: “I’ll take a shot every time I go off the road.
“It gets really crazy.
“It’s a little much but it’s a PSA on what not to do.”
When it comes to her fans’ wildest demands, the streamer admits the requests can get strange – with one particular task sticking in her mind.

She said: “Somebody asked me to try on jeans.
“They were like ‘can you go grab a pair of the tightest blue jeans you have and oil yourself up and slip into them?’.
“Putting on more clothes is probably the oddest request.
“It’s definitely different.”
As for her family, Emmie says her parents have taken a polite “don’t ask, don’t tell” approach – preferring not to know exactly what their daughter does online.
She said: “I haven’t had that conversation with my family.
“But they know that I Twitch stream.
“When I say I do online content and Twitch streaming they’re like ‘okay, yeah, I don’t need to see it, okay, continue’.
“My siblings know more so.
“They’re more like ‘yeah, that makes sense, I kind of figured’.”
Despite spending almost all her time online, Emmie believes social media has made it harder – not easier – to understand the world.
Now using her platform to push for media literacy, the science graduate is urging her fans to think for themselves.
She said: “We’re online so much but educating yourself on what’s going on in the world is still very difficult.

“It’s very hard to educate yourself fully on world politics or what is actually going on.
“I think taking the time to be present and to know what you’re talking about – instead of just saying ‘oh yeah, this is bad, oh yeah, that’s good’ – is important.
“Understand the history of political movements and understand that it’s not just what you see on your feed that one day.”
Looking ahead, the streamer hopes to grow her Twitch, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat audiences – and finally tick TwitchCon and a string of Comic Cons off her bucket list.
She added: “I’m a pretty big nerd.
Her love of all things geek culture goes well beyond gaming and cosplay.
Emmie also has an $8,000 collection of Lego sets and Transformers figures which she has built up over the years.
She said, “I have a massive Lego and Transformers collection.
It’s probably worth around $8,000 now.”
I’m a huge nerd, so that side of me definitely comes through in my content as well.
“I’m definitely going to be attending more Comic Cons and I’m looking forward to that in the next year.
“I’d love to do more cosplay content with other creators.”
From baby fish to a fanbase of more than 115,000 followers, Emmie has well and truly hatched an empire of her own.
