A hairstylist-turned-adult creator who once felt insecure about her body after having children says her biggest physical insecurity has become one of her most requested features.
Katie, 36, spent nearly 15 years working as a hairstylist and owned her own salon for five of those years before burnout pushed her to try something new.
Now the mum makes intimate content for fans online – and says one of the strangest requests she’s received involved her nose, a feature she’d always been self-conscious about.
“Someone really liked my nose and wanted close-up pictures of it,” said Katie, @katierosecoloredglasses.
“I really don’t judge what people ask for because I don’t want to make them feel weird about stuff they like.
“But it was also flattering because my nose has been an insecurity of mine.”
Katie, who describes her brand as “feminine, sensual and intimate”, says she draws creative inspiration from an unlikely source – spicy romance novels.
She said: “I read a lot of spicy romance novels and I get turned on by the intimacy in them.
“I get a lot of my ideas from them as well as just things I come up with that sound fun to do.”
The creator, originally from Brooklyn, New York, grew up in a rural town upstate before recently relocating to Florida.
She says the move to adult content came after years of gruelling work behind the salon chair left her exhausted.
Katie said: “Doing hair is very demanding and it started burning me out.
“I had friends that did OnlyFans and had good things to say about it.
“I started it hoping for a possible extra income stream – but then I found out it made me feel beautiful.
“I got a rush out of being watched.
“Especially after having kids, I felt so differently about myself and my body.
“It kind of helped me feel confident again.”
Katie says her approach to content sets her apart from other creators in the space.
She said: “I like to create my content around aesthetic beauty – beautiful landscapes, vibrant colours, sensuality, cool music.
“I don’t enjoy shock-factor content.
“I want to invite fans into an intimate moment, rather than just give them a piece of content to jerk off to.
“I want them to feel a bit of connection because people are lacking that in this world now.
“There is nothing more important than human connection.”
When it comes to her family’s reaction, Katie says most were supportive – though a few needed time to adjust.
She said: “None of my friends cared at all – they were very supportive.
“Most of my family didn’t care either, they just had a lot of curiosities about it.
“I did have a few family members that took it hard but eventually got over it.”
Katie says her life has transformed since making the switch from hairstylist to creator.
She said: “I have a lot more freedom now.
“I loved my job as a hairstylist – I was actually close to being a six-figure earning stylist.
“But it was very gruelling and it burnt me out.”
The model says fans are often surprised to learn about her low-key lifestyle off-camera.
She said: “Most fans are surprised to hear that I’m a mum.
“I also think a lot of people get the impression that I’m very high maintenance.
“But I live a very low-key life – I love to garden and cook and read.
“I generally don’t stay up past 10pm.
“That’s an exciting weekend for me.”
As for advice to new creators, Katie says growing a thick skin is essential.
She said: “Make sure you have very tough skin, especially on social media – people say some horrible things.
“I generally don’t mind it but every once in a while it will get to me.
“You just have to remind yourself that everyone is going to have a different opinion and move on from it.”
Looking ahead, Katie says she’s excited to keep creating fresh content inspired by her new surroundings in Florida.
She added: “I’m adjusting to a whole new world here and gaining a lot of inspiration from my surroundings.
“I’m excited to see how that evolves.”
