A stay-at-home mum who balanced a medical science degree with raising two children has revealed how she built a thriving content creation career that allowed her to buy a house and car outright.

Aozora x, from England, launched her OnlyFans in February 2022 after stumbling across a Facebook group of other mums in the same situation.

She was midway through her degree and needed flexible income that fit around childcare.

“I found a group of other mums on a Facebook group who started OnlyFans so I decided to give it a go too,” said Aozora, who has [TK – follower count] followers on Instagram (@_aozora_x).

“It seemed to make sense because I love being creative and some extra money was needed.”

For nearly two years, Aozora kept her career secret from her family.

When they finally discovered the truth in 2024, their reaction caught her off guard.

She said: “My family all told me that they wondered where I was getting my money from as I had no ‘job’.

“But they also said they weren’t bothered as long as I’m safe and happy and can provide for my family.

“I was worried about their reaction and feared judgement, but they were really kind about it.”

The financial impact has been life-changing.

“My income has increased a lot,” she said.

“I managed to do driving lessons, buy a car, buy a house.

“I am no longer struggling for cash.”

Just 18 months into her content career, Aozora completed her medical science degree.

She said: “My dissertation involved me doing an autopsy on a human donor.

“It was incredible! I love anatomy and I try to showcase that when I can.”

What Kind of Content She Creates

Aozora’s content blends creativity with personality, featuring everything from clown cosplay looks to mime performances.

She said: “The clown look took a lot of effort but I made some hot videos which a lot of my fans enjoyed.

“I hadn’t done mime content before but it was fun.

“It involves no speaking so it could enhance the bodily sounds for the viewers.”

Her approach reflects a broader trend among creators who use costume and performance art to differentiate themselves in a crowded market.

Many successful OnlyFans creators credit niche content and creative experimentation as key to building a loyal fanbase.

How Her Life Changed

Despite her financial success, Aozora says her day-to-day life remains fairly grounded.

“My lifestyle isn’t much different, I may eat out more often and I get to stay in various Airbnbs to change my content up,” she said.

“I’ve gone to the US twice as well.”

The flexibility of content creation has allowed her to balance motherhood with work in ways traditional employment never could.

For mums entering the creator economy, the ability to set their own schedules and work from home has proven transformative.

The Challenges She Faces

But the career shift hasn’t been without downsides.

Aozora admits her dating life has suffered since she started creating content.

She said: “Dating is pretty tricky, most guys wanted everything to be sexual or me to just send them content when I told them about my career.

“No one rejected me because of my job.

“But as soon as guys wanted content from me I stopped talking to them because I wasn’t going to turn everything sexual just because I am a spicy content creator.”

It’s a common frustration among creators, who report that potential partners often struggle to separate their professional persona from their private lives.

What She Wants Next

Aozora has ambitious plans for the future.

She said: “I want to build my socials up, start posting regularly on YouTube and film higher quality stuff.

“I’d like to do more cosplays.

“I want to travel more and share that with everyone.”

Her goals reflect a wider shift in the industry, where creators are increasingly diversifying across platforms to build sustainable, long-term careers.

Many are expanding into YouTube, TikTok and Instagram to reach broader audiences and reduce reliance on a single income stream.

Her Advice for New Creators

For anyone considering following in her footsteps, Aozora’s advice is practical and financial.

She said: “Get a good accountant and change to a limited company ASAP.

“It will save you money in tax.

“Do your research before entering the industry.”

The tax implications of content creation can be complex, particularly for high earners, and professional financial guidance is widely recommended.

As more mums turn to platforms like OnlyFans to supplement household income, Aozora’s story highlights both the opportunities and challenges of the creator economy.

She added: “I love my fans and I wouldn’t be able to keep going without them.”
