A creator says an awkward revelation about her boyfriend’s past led to a joint OnlyFans venture that changed her life almost overnight.
Jade Vow, now living in Cyprus, met her partner Josh in 2018, but only discovered he worked in the adult industry when a friend let it slip in front of her mum.
“A mutual friend of ours actually brought it up in front of me AND MY MUM,” Jade told NudeNewz.
“But that’s a story for another time.”
Rather than being put off, Jade says she was curious.
“I’ve always been a very sexual person and had folders of nudes on my phone simply because I enjoyed taking them anyway,” she said.
Josh had been working in the adult industry long before platforms like OnlyFans existed, and the couple decided to try creating content together as an experiment.
“We made $4,000 in the first 24 hours,” Jade said.
“At the time, this was life-changing money to me. It felt right, so I decided to take it seriously. I quit my job and we locked in. I haven’t looked back since.”
Before OnlyFans, Jade worked a string of regular jobs while trying to figure out what she wanted long term.
“I was a barista, a hairdressing assistant, a makeup artist in a department store, even though I sucked at doing makeup,” she said.
“All I knew was that I wanted to be self-employed one day.”
She was most recently working for UNICEF, which she loved but says did not pay well.
“The hours were flexible and I absolutely loved it, but it didn’t pay well, so I started creating content on the side,” she said.
After their first day’s earnings, the decision was simple.
Jade says the lifestyle change has been dramatic.
“I used to live in a house share with three roommates in a pretty dodgy neighbourhood,” she said.
“I now live in a three-bedroom villa in Cyprus with a private pool, 10 minutes’ walk from the sea.”

The income jump has been just as striking.
“I now make five times more money per month from one small part of my work than I used to make working a 9–5, five days a week,” Jade said.
Telling her mum about the career shift was easier than expected.
“She wasn’t sure about it at first, but once I explained what it actually involved, she calmed down,” Jade said.
“When she realised I’d be in control of where I work, when I work and who I work with, she was fine with it.”
Family acceptance was helped by familiarity with the industry.
“My big sister used to be a stripper, so the sex industry wasn’t exactly new to my family,” Jade said.
“As long as I’m safe and happy, they’re happy.”
Jade believes what sets her apart is how personal her content feels.
“A lot of my content is filmed in a vlog-like style,” she said.
“You feel like you’re watching a YouTube vlog and then suddenly it turns spicy.”
She says she does not put on a fake persona.
“I don’t fake anything and I don’t have a ‘sexy online persona’,” Jade said.
“I’m just me. I barely edit my videos and leave in all the awkward little moments.”
Despite her confident online presence, Jade admits she is shy in real life.
“I’m so socially awkward,” she said.
“In person, I’ll stumble over my words. Online, I’m confident because I’m in control.”
Beyond the money, Jade says the biggest change has been her confidence.
“I’m infinitely more confident about my body after being in the industry,” she said.
“If you’re insecure about something, it’ll be a fantasy for someone else.”
Her advice to others is blunt.
“Only start this if you genuinely think you’ll enjoy it,” she said.
“Once something is online, it’s there forever.”
From an awkward comment in front of her mum to earning $4,000 in a day and moving to Cyprus, Jade says the leap was worth it.
“I don’t fake anything,” she added.
“I’m just me.”
