‘I was FIRED from my college job for being too curvy – now I’ve been banned from every platform for the same body’

Woman fired from college job for looking inappropriate says her curvy body is why she has been banned from TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and even dating apps like Tinder.

A content creator who says she was fired from her college job for “looking inappropriate” claims she has since been banned from multiple major social media platforms, and believes her curvy body type is the reason.

Brat, 26, who was born in Albania and is now based in Philadelphia, says she has faced ongoing issues since her university days, losing jobs and social media accounts because of how her figure appears in clothing that she says slimmer women wear without issue.

The computer science graduate, who now runs a marketing business for OnlyFans models, says she has lost five TikTok accounts, multiple Instagram pages and her personal Snapchat account, which she had used since she was 16.

“Everything I wear kind of just sexualises me right away,” said Brat.

“But someone else could wear it that’s super skinny and it’s fine.”

She says the issue first became noticeable during her role at the front desk of her university’s computer science department, where she was warned multiple times about her outfits.

“I ended up getting fired from there for having too many warnings,” she said.

“The other girls there would be super skinny and wear worse things than me and never get in trouble. And it was me every single day because I was more busty.”

She says she later experienced similar issues in other roles, including hospitality and internships, before graduating in 2020 with a degree in computer science.

After struggling to secure graduate employment during the pandemic, Brat pivoted into social media marketing. She built a business managing promotions and campaigns for OnlyFans creators, while also running her own non-nude page.

At her peak, she says her combined income reached between £300,000 and £400,000 per year.

Her personal page earned between £5,000 and £20,000 per month during 2021 and 2022, though she says her primary focus has always been marketing.

“They know I work in marketing,” she said of her family. “Which is true.”

The social media bans, however, remain her biggest frustration.

She claims she lost five TikTok accounts, several Instagram pages and her Snapchat, which contained years of personal memories.

“I had it since I was like 16,” she said. “All my memories, all these connections of people I met travelling and on vacations, and they’re gone.”

She says attempts to recover the account were unsuccessful.

Around six or seven months ago, she claims multiple pages were removed at once.

“I don’t even connect to the Wi-Fi at my house,” she said. “I get a new phone every time. I don’t know how they got triggered.”

She also says she has been removed from dating apps including Tinder, Hinge and Bumble.

At the centre of her frustration is what she sees as inconsistent moderation standards.

“I know sex workers are targeted in general on social media,” she said.

“But I feel like it’s different with thinner creators. They can get away with more. As soon as the algorithm sees a thicker body, it just gets flagged and removed.”

She claims even fully clothed content has been taken down.

For Brat, the experience has taken a toll beyond finances.

“I feel like I can never talk about my discrimination,” she said. “It just feels like no one cares.”

Despite the setbacks, she says she is now focused on rebranding with more fashion-forward content and hopes to rebuild her online presence.

“I just want to be able to exist online without constantly feeling like I’m doing something wrong because of how my body looks,” she said.
