Forget the platform’s own payout figures for a moment — a new report on the demand side of OnlyFans tells a different story about where the money is actually coming from. US subscribers are on track to spend $5.26 billion on OnlyFans in 2026, according to new state-by-state data published by OnlyGuider, and the geography of that spending doesn’t line up neatly with where the creators themselves live.
The headline number
OnlyGuider’s analysis, published on 2 September 2026, puts 2026 US OnlyFans spending at $5.26 billion, up 8.9% from an estimated $4.825 billion in 2025. The figures were built by combining Fenix International’s own filings with Google Ads search-volume data by state — a proxy method rather than platform-confirmed regional figures, worth bearing in mind before treating any single state’s number as gospel. For global context, a separate analysis by OnlyFinder put worldwide 2025 spending at roughly $7.8 billion, with the US accounting for an estimated 61–62% of that total.
Which states actually spend the most per person
Ranked by per-capita spending (per 10,000 adults), the top five states in the OnlyGuider data are:
- North Dakota — $278,815 per 10,000 adults; $17.04 million total (+11.3% year-on-year)
- Nevada — $272,126 per 10,000 adults; $66.29 million total (+11.5%)
- Colorado — $247,984 per 10,000 adults; $110.8 million total (+8.7%)
- West Virginia — $246,565 per 10,000 adults; $26.95 million total (+14.2%)
- Arizona — $245,779 per 10,000 adults; $138.3 million total (+9.2%)
None of those are the states you’d guess from population size alone, which is the point of measuring per-capita rather than total spend — a small state with a high concentration of spenders can easily outrank California on this metric even while spending a fraction of the total dollars.
Where the actual dollars are
Measured by raw total spending rather than per-capita rate, the picture flips: California leads with $675 million, roughly 12.8% of all US spending, followed by Texas, New York and Florida. By city, New York leads in total dollars at $164.3 million, ahead of Los Angeles ($115.9 million) and Chicago ($82.1 million) — though Atlanta tops the per-capita city rankings at an estimated $1,091,381 per 10,000 adults, the highest of any US city measured.
Only three states bucked the national growth trend entirely: Alabama (-2.5%), Arkansas (-1.1%) and Missouri (-0.8%) all show projected declines in 2026 spending, a divergence the report doesn’t fully explain but which is worth watching alongside Missouri’s own age-verification fight with adult platforms this year.
Why this is a different number to OnlyFans’ own $30 billion figure
It’s easy to conflate this with the platform-wide lifetime payout figure covered in OnlyFans’ recent disclosure that it has paid creators $30 billion since 2016, but the two numbers measure completely different things: that figure is cumulative creator earnings paid out globally over a decade, while this one is a single year’s US consumer spending estimate. - Per-capita spending strength in states like North Dakota, Nevada and West Virginia suggests audience concentration matters more than raw population when targeting paid promotion by geography.
- High-growth states (West Virginia +14.2%, Nevada +11.5%) may represent less saturated markets than the traditionally assumed hotspots.
- Treat any third-party spending estimate — including this one — as directional rather than exact, since none of the underlying platform data is independently verified or platform-confirmed.
