A single mum of four who built a large online following by sharing provocative content says she’s now been officially excommunicated from the Mormon Church.

Holly Jane, better known online as the ‘Mormon Mistress’, claims The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has formally revoked her membership, citing “conduct contrary to the laws and order of the Church.”

The 39-year-old, based in California, says she recently received a formal letter declaring her excommunication a process she was warned might happen but hadn’t expected to come so swiftly or decisively.

I knew it was a possibility,” Holly told NudePR.com. “But I thought there’d be a warning or some other kind of reprimand. I was surprised they were that harsh.”

Despite her removal, Holly insists she’s done nothing wrong. “God supports me,” she said. “I’m celebrating the body He created in a tactful and classy way. I’m a good person and a good mum. Everything I do is legal, I’m working hard, and I’m having fun.”

With over 211,000 Instagram followers, Holly has built a personal brand around being both devout in her faith and unapologetically bold in her content.

She claims the trouble began when a local bishop discovered her account and confronted her at home, urging her to choose between her online career and remaining in the church. “He talked to me like I was a prostitute,” she said. “He gave me an ultimatum.”

Soon after, she was notified that a disciplinary council would convene to review her status. Holly declined to attend the meeting, believing her presence wouldn’t change the outcome.

I had nothing to say that would sway them,” she said. “I’m not quitting, and I don’t believe what I do affects anyone else in the church.”

The letter, sent last year but only now publicly revealed, gave Holly 30 days to appeal the decision. It confirmed the termination of her membership and stated that excommunicated individuals “may not enjoy any privileges of membership,” though they are still welcome to attend church meetings if they behave appropriately.

For Holly, the decision felt extreme. “It’s very rare for someone to lose their membership like this. It’s like the Pope sending you a message saying, ‘you’re done.’ I feel lost,” she said, adding that her daughters still want to be part of the church community.

I don’t understand how taking my clothes off online means I should no longer be allowed to take the sacrament or enter the temple.”

Although no longer officially part of the church, Holly continues to practice her Mormon faith privately and has no plans to give up her career. She’s continued to post risqué content online often with viral success.

I’ve had millions of views on reels where I flash my panties,” she said. “People quote the Bible at me, asking how I can call myself a Christian but it’s no different from them subscribing. Everyone sins. They’re just not being kicked out for it.”
