A content creator who grew up in poverty now earns up to £38,000 a month and travels the world – but says fans would be stunned to discover who she really is behind the camera.
Desy Gato, 29, swapped a career in real estate for online content creation after realising she was posting sexy lingerie shots for free when she could be getting paid.
The model, who promotes body positivity and confidence to her 1,000,000 followers, says her glamorous online persona is a far cry from the video game-loving bookworm she is in real life.

Desy insists she’s “nothing like” what she portrays online – revealing she’s obsessed with anime, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings when she’s not jet-setting around the globe.
“My social media is merely a role I step into that makes me feel empowered and sexy,” said Desy, who has 1.1 Million Instagram followers @desygato.

“I am nothing like what I portray online.
“I’m really a video game-loving bookworm who watches anime and loves Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.”
Despite her humble beginnings growing up with her mother and grandparents, Desy now enjoys a lifestyle most can only dream of – travelling at least once a month to beaches around the world.
She said: “I have the freedom – time and finances – to travel the world, invest, save money and live and work wherever I want.
“I travel once a month, sometimes more.
“I have a loving boyfriend and loving friends.”
Desy was already modelling and creating content when adult subscription platforms launched, and she quickly spotted an opportunity.

She said: “I had 500,000 followers when OnlyFans came out and figured I should be posting my lingerie and sexy pics for money instead of for free.”
The creator, who doesn’t show explicit content, says she draws inspiration from shopping for outfits and her love of writing.
She said: “I love to write.
“For example, I might come up with something poetic and then want some photos to match.”
But not every fan request has been quite so artistic – with one follower making a bizarre demand that left her stunned.
She said: “Someone has asked me to fart in a bag and ship it to them.”
While her close family members have been supportive of her unconventional career, Desy admits more distant relatives haven’t been as accepting.

She said: “My close family members are supportive.
“My distant family members are judgmental and I don’t care.”
Now based in Miami, Desy hopes the next year will bring even bigger opportunities – including a potential proposal from her boyfriend.
She said: “My goals are to 10x my following and my income by broadening the horizons of my content, collaborating more and continuing travelling.
“Hopefully there’s a proposal somewhere in there.”
For aspiring creators, Desy has one piece of advice – never give up.

She said: “Never stop posting.
“You might post for three months and get the worst engagement and feel like giving up.
“Keep going. Go harder. Post 10 times a day.
“Force yourself onto people’s timelines.”
