A news anchor who has been reading the headlines naked for 17 years has revealed her best month selling was enough to buy three houses mortgage-free.
Eila Adams joined Naked News in 2009 and is now the longest-running anchor the show has had.
Unlike most creators starting out, she had spent a decade building an audience before she ever posted a paid photo – and says her fans had been waiting a long time.
“Fans were immediately wanting to join because they had been waiting so long for me to spread my legs,” said Eila, who posts on Instagram as @flexapeeler2.
“So when I finally did, the success was pretty quick.
“It was almost like a slow burn. I started teasing and then started to get into the more hardcore stuff as the years went on.”
Her first jobs in the industry came at 18, when she began answering nude modelling adverts on Craigslist.
She said: “As soon as I turned 18, I was like, how can I make the most money? And that was nude modelling.
“I was getting a lot of gigs off Craigslist, believe it or not.
“I can’t even believe that I’m alive to this day with some of the situations I got myself in.
“Of course I met creeps, but here I am.”
A shoot paid around £366 at a time when her rent was £586 a month.
She said: “That was like, oh my god, I pretty much made my rent in one day.
“I was a go-go dancer at a sex club where I would give tours of, like, this is the glory hole room.
“I did a lot of nude modelling, some nude acting.
“I’ve kind of always been in the adult space.”
The show she has fronted since 2009 first went on air in 1999, and for years the salary was comfortable rather than life-changing.
She said: “I could have never dreamed that I was going to be making this kind of money.
“My salary from Naked News was okay, but it was nothing compared to this.
“Now I’ve bought two houses, I’m looking into buying another one.”
What she values most, though, is not the money.
She said: “I got into this industry because I like having free time. I don’t want to work nine to five.
“I like having these weird hours where I can go to the gym at 10 in the morning if I want.
“For me, freedom is what’s most important.”
The trade-off is that nobody else sets her schedule any more – and the hardest part of the job is the part nobody sees.
She said: “It’s constantly trying to come up with new ideas, especially when you’re not feeling attractive.
“If you’re bloated, the last thing you want to do is get a dildo out. You gotta do it.
“Sometimes there are months where I have to batch film a bunch of content just because I’m not feeling the best.”
Her biggest single burst of exposure came from a stunt that landed her in the New York Post and The Sun – and in newspapers as far away as Thailand and the Philippines.
She said: “One of my articles went viral where I was doing some public flashing, obviously for clickbait.
“There was a lot of hate thrown at me, but a lot of new fans too.
“All these articles in different languages about me was super cool.”
She was surprised it travelled as far as it did, given the stunt was entirely legal.
She said: “It’s totally legal to be public flashing in New York. It is not anything special really.
“But I guess a lot of people don’t realise that it’s legal.
“Sometimes the mean comments can hurt your feelings. Nobody wants to read bad things about themselves.
“But if you’re getting a lot of new fans, whatever. Haters gonna hate.”
Now based in Toronto, Canada, she runs three sites – one she answers messages on herself and two where she uses a team, something she insists on spelling out.
She said: “It is very clear that I say it’s not only me chatting here, because I don’t like duping fans.
“Somebody’s paying your monthly fee and they’re paying for access to you. You want to give them that experience.
“If you are going to be using agencies or chatters, you should make it clear so that you’re not lying to fans.”
Her advice to anyone starting out is to hold something back.
She said: “The biggest mistake is maybe trying to do too much too soon.
“Let’s say there’s a 22-year-old girl just getting into the industry. I would definitely tell her not to do anal right away.
“Build a bit and then grow to that. Save stuff for later.
“If you want to be in it for the long run, I think you’ve got to have a slow build and have something that makes fans keep craving more.”
She added: “The people who are most successful in the industry are very authentic.
“They treat their fans well, they’re just true to themselves and they have a unique niche.”
Asked what she would change if she had to start again tomorrow, her answer has nothing to do with content.
She said: “I would have probably chosen a name that was easier to pronounce.
“When I was 18 choosing my current name, I thought that it was unique. I was like, nobody else has this name.
“It’s always spelled wrong. It’s always mispronounced.
“So that’s always been annoying, but it’s my own fault.”
She worked it out within a year, by which point the name was already on air. The only other thing she would tell her younger self is blunter.
She said: “Everything is on the internet forever and it’s true.
“You cannot get into this industry if you have any fear about your family or boyfriends or friends finding out, because they will.”
These days her ideas run from the wholesome to the extremely niche, this summer she launched what she calls crotch cam.
She said: “I just tan naked in my backyard with my camera placed right at my crotch.
“It’s for the voyeurs, kind of like a peeping Tom looking through the fence at the naked neighbour next door.
“Sometimes I go for weeks where I don’t have a fun idea and then all of a sudden something will click and I’m like, crotch cam, a million dollar idea.”
She has also shot content with a full-size sex doll modeled after herself and once interviewed her own mum on the show.
The change she is happiest about is the industry’s attitude to age.
She said: “It’s no longer the younger the hotter.
“Some of the most popular creators that I know are all MILFs.
“People are just taking better care of themselves and living longer.
“You say that I don’t look 38 – it’s good Botox, exercise, drinking water and tequila, I guess.”
And she has no intention of stopping.
She said: “As long as you look good and you feel good in your body, why wouldn’t you keep doing this job?
“A lot of people ask me and other older creators, what’s your plan to retire?
“And I always say, I’ll still be doing this when I’m 80.
“If I still want to be doing naked workouts, why not?”
